Description
Faces is a 3 dimensional ceramic pottery of 2 faces by Jamaican artist Robert Campbell. The artwork is framed and ready for mounting on your wall.
Robert Campbell hails form Race Course, Clarendon. With an absent father, Campbell left school at 14 when his mother died. Initially emersing himself in furniture building, Campbell’s passion for wood sculpting deepened during his involvement with the Mighty Gully Youth Project in Old Harbour, St Catherine. While working at Wassi Art as a wood joiner he became fascinated by the ceramics section and this new passion took flight. Marking a pivotal shift in his artistic focus from woodcarving to ceramics, defied his earlier expectations of becoming solely a woodcarver.
Robert Campbell’s journey exemplifies resilience, creativity, and a commitment to continuous growth within the Caribbean’s artistic landscape. His evolution from a self-taught artisan to an influential educator and entrepreneur underscores his dedication to shaping the future of Caribbean artistry.
