Curry Seasoning – An easy and simple way to make a Jamaican curry, just add meat, prawn or vegetable for a great tasting meal.
Save yourself the time and energy to create your own curry paste. Spend that time more productively, yet creating the taste the family expects by using this curry seasoning paste.
Refrigerate after opening.
Jamaican Curry Chicken
Cooking time: 40 minutes
Serves: 6
1½ kg chicken – cut into 10 to 15 pieces
1 tbsp vegetable oil
6 tbsp Spur Tree Curry Seasoning (for goat/lamb/mutton use 8 tbsp)
1 large potato – diced.
Marinate the chicken pieces with 5 tbsp Spur Tree Curry Seasoning, coating well and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight if possible).
Add oil to pan and fry 1 tbsp Spur Tree Curry Seasoning for 2 minutes on medium heat.
Add chicken and brown for 5 – 8 minutes turning frequently.
Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Add a little water then add potatoes and continue cooking until potatoes are tender.
Ingredients: Scallion, water, 5% cane vinegar, onion, minced garlic, curry powder (turmeric, fenugreek, coriander, cumin, black pepper, pimento, star anise), salt, scotch bonnet/hot red pepper, thyme, turmeric, xanthan gum, sucrose, yeast extract, sodium benzoate (preservative <0.1%), sodium metabisulphite (0.05%)
