Hello Caribbean Family and Friends!
My name is Ann Marie, owner of Caribbean Dolls. Although I was born in Princess Town, Trinidad, I have called Australia home for more than 50 years. Still, I am proudly “Trini to the bone!”
Today I am excited to introduce my small business, Caribbean Dolls, and share a very special event where I will be showcasing my work.
A Caribbean Story in Australia
For many years, I have been more than just a friend, truly a sister, to Hope from Jamaican Products. Our Caribbean pride runs deep, and it has shaped the passions we carry into our lives and businesses.
For me, that passion is the art of reborning, transforming vinyl dolls into lifelike baby dolls that celebrate culture, comfort, and creativity.
The Art of Reborning – Realistic Baby Dolls
My journey into doll-making was inspired by my late aunt, a ceramic doll maker. She often told me, “In times of stress, turn to craft.” Those words became my anchor while caring for my husband through Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Reborning dolls became my therapy, my comfort, and my joy.
Each doll is carefully crafted to look and feel like a real baby. These reborn dolls in Australia not only highlight artistry but also represent stories of resilience, memory, and cultural pride.
From Therapy to Showcase – Caribbean Dolls at Hornsby RSL
For years, I donated a few dolls to church raffles but never thought of selling them. This year, however, a new chapter begins! I have been invited to showcase my work at the Reborn Doll Expo in Hornsby.
