I was drawn to the sounds of Latin American folk music and noticed they had reggae as well. See photo of Georgina, sales coordinator for Putumayo World Music, and I at their booth. Georgina told me they had a CD of Rastamouse. Go on – Google the name Rastamouse if you have not heard of this cartoon.
I have been attending the Reed Gift Fair in Sydney which for the last few years was held at the Sydney Exhibition Centre, Glebe Island, Rozelle. Usually I go for two days but this year I attended only one day, on Monday 23 February, the second to last day of the fair.
Reed Gift Fairs is Australia’s premier trading platform for buyers and sellers in the gift and homewares industry. These events provide a venue for buyers to be inspired, network with industry leaders and source and purchase the latest products.
I was bedazzled by the jewellery, fascinated by the figurines and intrigued by the artistic displays. I like listening to the free sessions on ways to improve my business. To think of it, this is where I opened my business Facebook page a few years ago. This time I listened to tips on photography, the suggestion to join Instagram and of course Facebook essentials.
Of interest was the mobile phone screen cleaning cloth made in Melbourne by a family business employing a large number of special needs workers. I was proud of the local and social contribution made by that family.
I will keep you posted on the highlights my next Reed Gift Fair visit.
